NSA Overview

The professionals at the National Security Agency (NSA) have one common goal - to protect our nation.  The mission requires a strong offense and a steadfast defense.  The offense collects, processes and disseminates intelligence information derived from foreign signals for intelligence and counterintelligence purposes.  The defense prevents adversaries from gaining access to sensitive classified national security information. The National Security Agency (NSA) currently has opportunities for a highly motivated Mail Courier/Driver.  As a Mail Courier/Driver you will be a valuable member of the Mail Services organization that transports sensitive material within and between NSA/CSS controlled areas, other U.S. Government facilities, and U.S. Government contractor facilities.

Description of Position

As a Mail Courier/Driver at NSA/CSS, your responsibilities may include:

- Ensuring all materials are collected and/or delivered by the required delivery date
- Protecting sensitive material from loss, exposure to unauthorized persons, or other forms of compromise
- Verifying that all sensitive material being hand-carried is properly marked, wrapped, and labeled
- Maintaining proper credentials and identifications
- Performing safety inspection of the assigned government vehicle before and after each use
- Performing other supply chain management responsibilities as required that may include loading/unloading trucks, operating material handling equipment (MHE), contract management, etc.

Knowledge and experience in one or more of the following is desired:

- General knowledge of logistics and transportation

- Familiarity with roads and routes within Baltimore/Washington and Northern Virginia
- Warehouse duties sorting and moving materials, loading and unloading of materials and equipment
- Lifting up to 70 pounds, sitting, standing and walking for long periods of time
- Accountable mail (Certified, Registered, and Express mail)
- Automated systems (Desktop Systems, Navigation Systems, Internet/Intranet)

The individual selected for this position must possess a valid U.S. driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
 
Qualifications
 
Salary Range:  $37,113 - $59,762 (Entry/Developmental)

Entry is with a high school diploma or GED and no experience.

Experience in working with basic office resources (e.g., e-mail, web browsers, word processors, and presentation graphics), administrative tasks, and/or customer service is desired. Valid driver's license is required. Material Handling Equipment (MHE) certification is preferred.

Salary Range:  $56,233 - $73,105 (Full Performance)

Entry is with a high school diploma or GED plus 4 years of relevant experience or an Associate's degree plus 2 years of relevant experience.

Degree in Business, Logistics, or Facilities Management is preferred, but a degree in any field is acceptable.

Relevant experience must be working with basic office resources (e.g., e-mail, web browsers, word processors, and presentation graphics), administrative tasks, customer service, and/or working in a logistics, facilities, or mail-related occupation. Valid driver's license is required. MHE (Material Handling Equipment) certification is preferred.
 
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
 
On-the job training, Internal NSA courses, and external training will be made available based on the need and experience of the selectee.

Monday - Friday, with basic 8hr/day work requirements between 0600 and 1800 (flexible).
