Job Description

This post-doctoral position, in NREL’s Chemistry and Nanoscience Center, is in the area of photochemistry of photoinduced cross-coupling reactions and will focus on using transient spectroscopies to investigate innovative light-harvesting processes to promote non-equilibrium chemistries. The candidate will be responsible for interacting with collaborators working on the synthesis of new photocatalysis systems, and will investigate the photophysical properties of these systems using a variety of transient spectroscopies. An acceptable candidate should have an understanding of time-resolved, laser-based spectroscopies ranging from femtoseconds to nanoseconds. Specific areas of interest include, but are not limited to: 1) time-resolved dielectric loss spectroscopy, 2) femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy and 3) multi-dimensional optical spectroscopy. Candidates should have a demonstrated track record of success in addressing fundamental science questions and devising solutions to challenging problems.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills

Must be a recent PhD graduate within the last three years.

Preferred Qualifications

PhD in Physical Chemistry or Molecular Physics, or related scientific field.
