Job Description

The Computational Science Center at NREL has an opening for a full- time postdoctoral researcher to join the high performance algorithms and complex fluids group. The successful applicant will contribute extensively to the development, performance enhancement and application of multiphase reacting flow codes. The specific open-source code-bases used in this work will use ‘CFD-DEM’ or two-fluid Euler-Euler methods and execute on both CPU and accelerated (GPU) architectures.


Required Education, Experience, and Skills

Must be a recent PhD graduate within the last three years.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient in C/C++/FORTRAN
  • Experience in the development of CFD solvers and well-versed in numerical methods
  • Demonstrated expertise in parallel programming paradigms such as MPI/OpenMP/CUDA
  • Experience working with CFD-DEM solvers
  • Previous training or experience developing codes targeting GPU or other accelerators
  • Experience using performance profiling tools such as Intel Vtune, Tau, PAPI, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in teams to deliver high-quality results
  • Track record of delivering results within aggressive timelines
  • Excellent technical writing, interpersonal, and communication skills
