Job Description

We are looking for an intern who is interested in learning and supporting NREL’s Application Development initiatives while working in an innovative and supportive atmosphere. This position will be supporting enterprise applications including Oracle EBS, Workday, Concur, Salesforce, SharePoint/O365, FileMaker, and other custom web and .net applications.

The intern's responsibilities include:

  • Ticket administration
  • User support
  • SQL coding and report creation
  • Web scripting and coding
  • Testing
  • Data analysis and validation
  • Maintenance of user guides and documentation
  • Other duties as assigned

Additional Required Knowledge, Skills and Attributes

  • Demonstrated proficiency utilizing standard office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Intermediate understanding of computer networking, web development, and the software development life-cycle.
  • Technical concepts and skills should include: relational databases and SQL, report creation and editing.
  • Web and application development experience should include JavaScript, HTML5, CSS or other languages.
  • Excellent analytic and quantitative skills.
  • Strong technical writing abilities, detail-oriented, innovative, and adaptable.
  • Candidate must be able to work independently, but be willing to follow direction and be able to follow the standards developed by the team.


Required Education, Experience, and Skills

Must be enrolled as a full-time student in a degree granting program, or graduated in the past 12 months from an accredited institution. Internship period cannot exceed 12 months past graduation. Minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average. Please Note: Before interview selection, you will need to provide unofficial transcripts to verify GPA and full time enrollment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • PL/SQL
  • Web development using frameworks such as Angular.js, .net coding, python, PHP
  • Source control experience with subversion or GIT
