Job Description

We are looking for an intern who is interested in learning and supporting NREL’s Data Management initiatives while working in an innovative and supportive atmosphere. This position will be supporting enterprise projects currently in progress, including expansion of our enterprise data warehouse and reporting and analytic tool OBIEE, web service development for integrations, and SharePoint/O365 development initiatives.

  • Maintenance
  • Data Analysis
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Attributes

  • Demonstrated proficiency utilizing standard Microsoft Office software, including data manipulation in Excel.
  • Demonstrated web development experience with JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3 or other languages.
  • Relational database development knowledge.
  • Excellent analytic and quantitative skills.
  • Strong technical writing abilities, detail-oriented, innovative, and adaptable.
  • Candidate must be able to work independently, but be willing to follow direction and be able to follow the standards developed by the team.


Required Education, Experience, and Skills

Must be enrolled as a full-time student in a degree granting program, or graduated in the past 12 months from an accredited institution. Internship period cannot exceed 12 months past graduation. Minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average. Please Note: Before interview selection, you will need to provide unofficial transcripts to verify GPA and full time enrollment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • SQL
  • JavaScript
  • User-interface/user-centered-design concepts
  • SharePoint and/or business intelligence tool experience a plus
