Job Description

A student internship is available in the National Renewable Energy Laboratory's (NREL) Integrated Applications Center. NREL is the nation's primary laboratory for research, development and employment of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies.

We have an immediate opening for a full-time student internship in our Golden, Colorado office. The position is full-time (40 hours per week) for the summer and part-time (15 – 30 hours) for the remaining time of this 12 months assignment. The successful candidate will have general knowledge of renewable energy systems, data collection and analysis experience, excellent writing and communication skills, and experience working cross-culturally.

Primary responsibilities will include support to technical assistance projects for tribal, state, and local audiences. Topics for support include analysis of energy, technology, economic, market and policy issues. Additionally, the candidate will have opportunities to support international development projects on energy and electrification issues.


Required Education, Experience, and Skills

Must be enrolled as a full-time student in a degree granting program, or graduated in the past 12 months from an accredited institution.
Internship period cannot exceed 12 months past graduation.
Minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with Tribal communities and/or renewable energy technologies, energy economic analyses, and experience with database design and development.
