The National Instruments Test Engineering organization has 2016 openings for talented entry-level Test Engineers with a Bachelors degree. As an NI Test Engineer, you will enjoy the unique opportunity to take ownership and be involved in all aspects of product testing. Test Engineers have the opportunity to develop and implement automated test platforms, integrating both hardware and software, which are consistent with a high mix, low volume, high tech and high quality operation. Core Job Responsibilities - Work and interact with a wide variety of NI staff in R&D software and hardware organizations, as well as employees from other business groups, both in Austin, Texas and in Debrecen, Hungary - Perform research as required to develop or enhance your test solutions - Specify, design, test, and deploy automated test solutions for the manufacture of computer-based instruments - Define and implement project plans, manage milestones and hold required reviews to assure test system readiness for product release - Integrate hardware and software to fully support manufacturing test for existing and new products using both traditional and computer-based instruments - Utilize programming skills to develop test applications running on desktop and industrial PC's - Review and approve product specifications and customer user documentation for the product

Position Requirements

Please Note: National Instruments does NOT petition for H-1B status from student visas for this position - B.S. in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or electronics engineering technology o Minimum overall GPA: 3.2 - Strong understanding of computers and high-level programming languages (LabVIEW, TestStand, C/C++) - Thorough understanding of the following concepts and principles: o Sources of measurement error o Appropriate selection of instrumentation o Statistical analysis of data o Software design and architecture o Integration of hardware and software - Passion for learning about and working with test industry technologies - Strong work ethic and drive to succeed - Demonstrated ability to: o Work effectively in a group development environment o Problem-solve effectively - diagnose technical issues and propose reasonable solutions; enjoy problem solving o Take initiative, be a self-starter, and work independently o Persistently drive tasks and projects to successful completion o Take ownership of goals, project schedules o Listen attentively and grasp fast-paced technical conversations o Quickly learn applicable technology, systems, and products - English Language Competency/effective communication skills o Can clearly and concisely communicate in English so that persons you work with can understand you clearly, particularly in technical conversations
