Job Description

Position Overview - Trade Facilitation Analyst

The Trade Facilitation Analyst implements trade facilitation solutions for National Instruments Corporation to ensure efficient delivery of products and services to customers located primarily in the US and the Americas, in compliance with all applicable National Instruments Trade Compliance processes, procedures and policies.

Responsibilities:

* Executes and applies corporate policies for compliance with all applicable trade compliance regulations, including local trade regulations pertaining to import and export processes.
* Leads the US Trade Facilitation team as needed with data analysis, process improvement initiatives, root-cause and resolution for customs-related issues.
* Interacts directly with US Customs Brokers to facilitate freight clearance and resolve any related issues.
* Interacts directly with NI internal customers for questions, concerns, etc. related to operations/shipments into to the US.
* Implements and assures execution of processes for importation into the US including regular review of customs entries. These processes will include imports, hand carry, temporary exports, etc.
* Analyzes import activity data from Customs brokers, and implements management action items in response to audit results.
* Learns and uses the tools and systems in place by the Trade Compliance team to support daily operations.
* Responsible for maintaining and updating customs records for record retention purposes in accordance with the Company's standard policy and procedures.
* Effectively and regularly communicates project status, matters of importance or any other matter requiring escalation to management and other members of the TC Global team.

Basic Qualifications

* Experience with data analysis and Microsoft Business Applications (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
* Experience in executing corporate policies for compliance with all applicable trade compliance regulations, including local trade regulations pertaining to import and export processes.
* Experience in request management to assist internal customers for questions, concerns, etc. related to operations/shipments into to the US.
* Bachelor's degree or Licensed Customs Broker.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience managing an import operations team with responsibility for analyzing import data, execution of processes and process improvement initiatives, root-cause and investigation of customs-related issues.
* Experience in creating, using and closing ATA Carnets and Temporary Imports.
* Experience with ACE reporting functions.
* Experience in maintaining CTPAT profile and security training.
* Experience with project management, especially in a consensus driven environment.
