Primary Objective:
Responsible for assisting with the complex Worldwide Project Revenue Recognition process. MTS utilizes Completed Contract (revenue recognized on shipment, on acceptance and on billing), Percentage-of-Completion, and time-based revenue recognition models in accounting for revenue on projects. Project Revenue Accountant assists in all aspects of project revenue recognition assuring timely and accurate reporting in compliance with GAAP and consistent with the existing SOX environment. 


Major Areas of Accountability:

  1. Responsible for assisting with the entity-wide project revenue recognition process including setting up, monitoring, and reviewing SAP systematic revenue recognition programs, document and complete applicable SOX controls, and complete account reconciliations.
  2. Assure SAP revenue programs are run consistently with revenue policies and guidance.
  3. Assist in the implementation project for the new revenue recognition standard.
  4. Work with Finance group in researching revenue issues and review findings.
  5. Support internal and external audits and reviews.
  6. Perform regular ad-hoc reporting and analysis projects.
  7. Various other duties as assigned.


Basic Qualifications:

  • B.A. degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance. 
  • Two to four years of accounting experience. Background in revenue recognition, including percentage-of-completion revenue model and multiple-element arrangements a plus.
  • Experience with ERP Systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to speak and coordinate with individuals across multiple functions within the MTS business segments. 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA (active or inactive).
  • SAP experience.
