Primary Objective:
To provide strategic direction to Manufacturing, Materials, IT, and Quality functions. To work closely with the VP/GM and his staff to address the strategic issues concerning the overall business. To produce division planned revenues within the estimated costs and schedule, thereby maximizing customer satisfaction.


Major Areas of Accountability:
1. Actively participates in and contribute to all management discussions relating to but not limited to manufacturing, materials, facility planning/maintenance, capital investments and quality topics.

2. Plans and produces revenue from shipments in accordance with the divisional revenue plan. Monitors division’s shipment/revenue performance with respect to plan and acts to minimize deviation through effective allocation and control of department resources. Also, balances revenue, lead time and on-time delivery.

3. Plans and achieves margin goals through the optimization and trade-off of such factors as accurate estimating of manufacturing costs, staffing, product and process quality, performance to schedule, etc.

4. Works with Purchasing to optimize part availability and inventory levels to improve turns and minimize stock-outs through the use of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system and support our lead time and on-time delivery targets.

5. Supports and improve New Product Introduction (NPI) process from an operational perspective to ensure the most effective launch of new products.

6. Determines department priorities based on business requirements and input from group management.

7. Works with Quality to establish and maintain divisional quality performance goals. Reviews field service and returns data with Quality. Obtains additional data as needed in order to assess systems/product/project management quality issues and take corrective action where necessary.

8. Focuses on process improvements to drive efficiency, productivity, cost savings, higher quality, etc. throughout Operations.

9. Provides input to annual operating budget and manages against that budget.

10. Knows and applies the division’s quality policy and procedures of ISO 9001 as it relates to area of responsibility and the organization. Follows all standard operating procedures as prescribed and notifies appropriate personnel of any non-conformance.

11. Responsible for the on-going management and development of assigned employees. Determines staffing and skill requirements to meet departmental needs, and implements plans to satisfy those requirements.

12. Responsible for maintaining safe work conditions.

13. Performs other duties as assigned.


Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years of manufacturing experience with 3 years supervisory experience.
Computer skills: word processing and spreadsheet
Additional courses in business accounting required, P&L experience highly desired.
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good problem solving skills

Ability to operate computer systems, software applications (Microsoft Office and database basics), including use of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems

Experience with Lean Leadership highly desired.
