Job Description

Morningstar is looking for an Accounting Intern to join our Morningstar team, which is focused on innovation, automation and process improvements. As an Accounting Intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our accounts receivable, revenue, accounts payable and general ledger teams. This is based in our Chicago office in the heart of the Loop. Responsibilities: - Interact with analyst teams; respond to internal and external customer inquiries related to invoice status and issues. - Assist with billing process. - Assist with month-end close and financial reports. - Assist with the preparation of ad hoc and other internal reports. - Assist with vendor maintenance. - Assist with fixed asset inquiry and write-offs. - Other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications: - Currently located in the Chicago area during the 2019-2020 academic year. - Working towards a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required. - Strong communication and organizational skills; experience with Microsoft Excel. - Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities and deadlines, with attention to detail, and an ability to work both independently and in a team environment. - Excellent documentation skills to be used in developing audit work papers and completing SOX reviews. - Excellent spoken and written communication skills; interpersonal skills. - Previous experience with Oracle's accounts receivable, cash management, general ledger, or accounts payable modules is a plus. 001_MstarInc Morningstar Inc.
