Coordinator of Scholarships and Default Management (Full-time) Based in Ft. Morgan, CO. The position provides counseling and education to current and prospective student loan borrowers through programming and outreach. This includes, but is not limited to, default prevention, default management activities, presentations, financial literacy programming, and educational activities. Develops relationships with third party loan servicers and agencies. Promotes scholarship opportunities and conducts scholarship workshops and informational sessions. Coordinates the scholarship process from application through reconciliation of funds. The position requires some evening, overnight and weekend hours and travel within the state.

Required Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution with one (1) year of full-time experience in higher education, and/or private, commercial, or student loan industry, and/or a grant/scholarship organization. An Associate Degree with three (3) years of full-time experience in higher education, and/or private, commercial, or student loan industry, and/or a grant/scholarship organization may substitute.
  • Ability to create and present effective presentations to small and large groups.
  • Effective public speaking, oral and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Proficient in MSOffice, presentation and database management software.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to develop working relationships with diverse constituencies.
  • Can work independently and on a team in a dynamic environment, be flexible and able to meet established deadlines.
  • Able to resolve complex problems and student issues while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Occasional long and irregular hours necessitated by special projects, compliance with deadlines, length of institutional day and week, and committee service.
  • Able to travel out of town as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Speak and write fluently in Spanish.
  • One (1) year of experience working in higher education student financial aid.           

Anticipated Start Date:  March 1, 2018                                  

Salary: $41,200 based on education, skills and experience.  Benefits include health, life, dental insurance, LTD & benefit package in accordance with Colorado Community College and Occupational Education System policies.  No relocation assistance is provided.
