We are accepting applications for a full-time position as Coordinator of Programs & Initiatives for the Office of Research & Sponsored Programs in the Office of Research & Sponsored Programs. Responsibilities: The Coordinator of Programs & Initiatives has primary responsibility for advising and assisting the Associate Provost for Research and Dean of the Graduate School in all programs and initiatives associated with the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP). In addition, this person serves as the chief liaison for the Research and Creative Productions Committee (RCPC) and the Office of Undergraduate Research. Essential Duties are as follows: Advises and assists the Associate Provost for Research and Dean of the Graduate School and other ORSP staff in organizing and managing the administrative responsibilities of the unit. Drafts, composes, and forwards correspondence and other documents on behalf of the Associate Provost for Research and Dean of the Graduate School. Conducts initial statistical analysis of data and assessment information for ORSP. Advises the Associate Provost for Research and Dean of the Graduate School in the planning and coordination of all activities (meetings, events, awards, annual reports, etc.) of the RCPC and the Office of Undergraduate Research. Maintains, monitors, and allocates ORSP, Office of Undergraduate Research, and RCPC committee budgets, and initiates transactions and expenditures. In consultation with the Associate Provost for Research and Dean of the Graduate School, the Coordinator of Undergraduate Research, and ORSP staff, plans and coordinates the Annual Celebration of Student Scholarship and Posters at the Capitol, and designs and prepares the Annual Celebration of Student Scholarship program and abstract book. Facilitates maintenance of the ORSP website. Serves as a point of contact for faculty, staff, and students pertaining to internal research grant policies and procedures, as well as matters pertaining to the undergraduate research fellowship program. Interviews, hires, trains, and supervises undergraduate work study students and graduate assistants. Qualifications: Bachelors Degree. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to supervise and assess the performance of undergraduate work study students and graduate assistants. Ability to collect and statistically analyze data pursuant to grant funding initiatives and programs that will inform decision making in ORSP, and apply independent judgement. Demonstrated accuracy in handling detail-oriented work. Excellent computer skills are required. Proficiency in the use of advanced word processing, graphics, and spreadsheet software, including Microsoft Office applications. Have a general knowledge of all University functions, make sound independent decisions, and work effectively both independently and within a team context. Analyzing data, assessing changing resource availability, planning workflow management, and dealing with confidential matters are important responsibilities of this position. Desired Qualifications: Experience working in grant development activities preferred. Experience with web and database software. Management and/or supervisory experience.
