Job Description

The Special Assistant will play a primary role in executing the Attorney General's daily activities by preparing for events, traveling with the Attorney General, and handling other logistics relating to the Attorney General's events, speaking engagements, and meetings. Working with the Chief of Staff and Communications Team, the Special Assistant will work daily and directly with the Attorney General during travels throughout Missouri and nationally. The special assistant will also work to identify potential partnerships with the office as well as events the Attorney General could attend. The Special Assistant will collaborate with team members to further office objectives by conducting research, assisting with project and event planning, and performing outreach activities.

Job Duties:

* Staff the Attorney General during official travel, meetings, and events
* Manage the Attorney General's approved calendar and arrange logistics pertaining to his attendance at meetings and events
* Keep accurate notes and collect materials from meetings or events to provide to senior staff for any necessary follow up
* Keep the Attorney General's work-related receipts and documentation of expenses organized, and deliver all receipts to the appropriate staff member for processing
* Serve as a point of contact between the office and the public by managing incoming phone calls, writing constituent correspondences, and assisting guests visiting the office
* Respond to inquiries to the office or distribute incoming communications to the appropriate team member
* Execute various administrative duties to support the efficient operation of the office
* Work with team members to support the development of projects and office initiatives
* Conduct research and analyze information to make recommendations on projects or issue areas
* Other duties as assigned


* Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
* Ability to work a varied schedule, which may include evenings and weekends
* Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
* Effective communications skills for a diverse range of audiences
* Ability to work both independently and as a team member
