As a software engineer, you will be personally involved in designing, coding and testing features that enable our mission critical business partners. You will learn to develop software and services at scale, innovating on the latest technologies (Cloud, BI, Big Data, Mobile, Social, Security Software and services) while engineering for automated testing, continuous Integration and Deployment as well as instrumenting telemetry to monitor and trouble-shoot the customer experience. You will work closely with peers across teams (inside IT and across the company) to help build flexible and high-performing components that enable next generation of business services.

In this role, you will:
-      Develops complete designs and test interfaces that solve classes of problems, enable integration across groups of components, improve reuse, and satisfy business, customer, engineering and operational requirements.
-      In some cases, drives design reviews, defines interfaces between code modules, and applies existing technology to designs.
-      Considers performance and maintainability and understands when his or her code is ready to be shared or delivered, resolving broad product areas.
-      Exposes test coverage issues, organizes and implements integration tests, and resolves problem areas.
-      Considers diagnosability, portability/monitoring, reliability, and maintainability, and understands when his or her code is ready to be shared and delivered.
-      Ability to learn and adopt a data driven approach to software engineering through designing, coding, testing, debugging, problem solving and analytical skills.
-      Demonstrate ability to learn and adopt relevant new technologies, tools, methods and processes from Microsoft and industry.
-      Provide problem-solving, technical innovation, and attention to detail.
-      Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
-      Gain a working understanding of Microsoft businesses and collaborate with mentors and leaders in order to contribute to cohesive, end-to-end experiences for our users.
-      Applies coding patterns and best practices.
-      Uses data and insights from customer and production to contribute to some technical design and implementation decisions.
-      Have a sense of pride, commitment and personal accountability for the end-to-end product or service quality, completeness, and resulting user experience for the life of the product or service.
-      Uses the product/service regularly to understand it thoroughly and discover ways to improve it.

Qualifications:

-      BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
-      Ability to learn and grasps concepts quickly in a fast paced environment.
-      Working level knowledge in at least one of the following technologies (or a similar equivalent):
o      C# or Java
o      C++
o      SQL or Oracle
o      Azure or other Cloud platforms
o      Mobile application development
-      Business Intelligence technology stacks

PREFERRED, NOT REQUIRED:  

-      Experienced agile practitioner.
-      Internships relating to your field of study, or other previous related work experience.
-      Previous experience with building on Azure or other Cloud solutions.
-      Experience with any of the following testing practices: performance, security, privacy, accessibility, and localization/globalization testing
-      Working understanding of some of the following:   SharePoint, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, Cloud computing, ASP.NET, PowerShell, Elastic Search, Power BI, Data Warehousing & Analytics, and Big Data technologies
-      Experience in Service Oriented Architectures (SOA).
