Job Description

Microsemi is seeking an Implementation Engineer to join our team in our Austin, TX office. As a key member of the team, the successful candidate with execute Microsemi's development methodologies which include synthesis, DFT, Automated Place and Route, Physical Design Verification, static timing, formal verification and ATPG flows for high performance devices. The successful candidate will work closely with our design customers to support them through Microsemi's Chip development flow. Our team uses state-of-the art IC tools and flows to build complex Mixed Signal ICs.

Responsibilities:

* Develop and execute implementation. synthesis, implement Design for Test, close timing on complex digital integrated circuits at the block, subsystem or device level.
* Use metric-driven techniques to help ensure first-pass working silicon.
* Design, implement, enhance and maintain synthesis, DFT, APR and Static Timing scripts using best-in-class methodologies and state of the art IC design tools.
* Analyze log and report files to ensure tools are achieving the required results and adjust the scripts to get the required results within the scheduled milestones.
* Communicate regularly with the project teams to resolve issues, communicate status and solve technical problems.
* Execute the physical design verification (PDV) flow, including DRC, LVS, ERC, and EM/IR.
* Work on CAD assignments to support the digital IC design flow.
* Must have a Bachelor's degree Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related program, with a minimum 3.0 GPA
* Knowledge of digital IC design and implementation
* Familiarity with tools and methodologies for Synthesis, DFT, APR, timing, clock synthesis, logic restructuring, optimization, and PDV
* Excellent analytical and debugging skills and the ability to proactively solve issues
* Good software and scripting skills, knowledge of synthesis and timing analysis
* Basic knowledge of standard cell, layout, timing/power views, and characterization desired
* Experience, coursework, or knowledge of best-practice engineering principles
* Excellent oral and written communications skills and strong attention to detail
* Familiarity with Linux OS and Data Management concepts
* Strong Microsoft Office skills with proficiency in Excel and Word
* Python/PERL/TCL language knowledge a plus
