As a Firmware Engineer on the Customer Engineering team at Micron Technology, Inc. you will resolve customer SSD issues. Understanding of the storage industry, including SSD firmware, hardware, NAND media and multiple storage interface protocols are a positive. You will resolve customer issues through replication, root cause, corrective actions and validation, using bus trace analysis, custom debug tools and other methods. You will be expected to utilize strong social skills to effectively communicate internally with Sales, Marketing, Quality, Engineering and with external customers.

This position can accept candidates from new college graduates to experienced storage industry firmware professionals.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

* Perform failure analysis on customer issues.
* Resolve root cause and develop an effective solution.
* Demonstrate fix effectiveness.
* Develop customer presentations on your findings and solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Storage industry experience developing embedded FW solutions.
* Knowledge or experience debugging issues in firmware.
* Working knowledge of SATA or PCIe interface protocol with associated tools.
* Proficiency in Python/Perl/Shell script programming.
* Proficiency in using bus analyzers, oscilloscopes or other HW debugging tools.
* Good customer presentation skills, effective collaboration with issue resolution skills.
* Team player, ambitious and self-starter.
* Desire to learn new SSD technology.
* Proficiency in C/C++ programming.
* Proficiency using Linux OS and Windows OS.
* Must be willing to work evenings and weekends, if necessary.
* Domestic and international travel is not frequent but, may be occasionally required.

Education Required:

* A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
