Job Description

The applicant will work with a team of experienced engineers residing world wide, who develop and maintain an Integrated Development Environment called MPLAB X IDE which is used to provide embedded development capabilities to all our customers, for all of Microchips devices.

The teams focus is on the deployment and debugging of the IDE which operates on Windows, Linux and Mac platforms combined with other utilities associated with this.

There are many facets of the job that range from GUI design to low level java based programming. Scripting languages to populate and validate XML databases.

The Team uses Jira issue/task tracking software, of which the candidate will need to use in order to track and manage issues/tasks within the software.

The team manages its development efforts using the Agile development process.

The individual will use UML to produce software designs for review and documentation.

They will provide customer support where necessary in relationship to the Tools we provide to our customers.

They will be required to fix issues on software that is developed by themselves and others during the course of employment

Job Requirements

Applicant must be in an engineering or computer science discipline course at college.

Having some experience on embedded development would be helpful.

Knowledge of java GUI technology and its associated languages like javaFX, Java Script, would be beneficial.

Good communications both written and verbal are a key to working with the company divisions in order to capture the requirements of the content to be designed.
