Microchip is seeking a dynamic individual to join our IT Business Applications Support team in an entry level position. A qualified candidate must be graduating within the next few months, or have had recently graduated university.

Ours is a fast paced environment that requires an individual interested in a software developer/analyst position who can work independently to quickly assimilate both business needs and complex technical requirements. The successful candidate will have a strong desire to learn and work with ETL/SQL applications used to integrate our Supply Chain Planning System. You will interact closely with functional and technical users both locally and abroad to define new requirements as well as identify and resolve existing system integration related problems. You will work in a team environment to make and support appropriate system decisions that fit our organization's goals and culture. We are willing to mentor and train the right candidate with the right educational background and a desire to learn as part of a team.

Job Requirements

The candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Math, Engineering or other technical area. Software development (including software life cycle experience) and structured programming experience is desirable.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Working with business users and system analysts locally and internationally to understand new business processes, business requirements and data integration.
* Analyzing user requirements and designing and implementing software solutions to satisfy those requirements.
* Documenting solutions for users and IT group/management information.
* Coding and Testing various reports and mission critical processes according to design specifications and defined standards.
* Assisting in testing application configuration changes to accommodate new and evolving business requirements.
* Executing test scripts for various scenarios. Performing and coordinating unit testing, system testing and integration testing according to scripts.
* Reconciling data and conducting validation testing.
* Identifying and resolving system integration errors and data quality issues.
* Delivering value to internal customers through a continual understanding of best practices.
* Understanding the nuances of our software to make enhancements and support existing system functions.

Skills, Experience and Core Competencies:

Software Development, Analysis and Design

Software development life cycle knowledge (system analysis, design, programming, testing, training and post implementation support) is desirable. The successful candidate must be familiar with all stages and deliverables in each stage of the software development life cycle. This should be coupled with a strong desire to produce quality deliverables at each stage of the development cycle. Candidate should be able to learn quickly, think efficiently, and inquire effectively in order to gather and understand user requirements. Experience with process flow and data flow diagramming tools is desirable.

Technical Knowledge:

Exposure and experience with databases and programming languages specifically with SQL, debugging and analysis skills is required. Ability to work in a structured development, code review and change control environment while following programming standards, procedures and defined policies is also required. Experience with PL/SQL and ETL tools like Informatica or SAP (Business Objects) Data Integrator is desirable.

Problem Solving:

The candidate must have the ability to think outside the box, and should be capable of deep analysis to find root cause complex issues.

Verbal/Written Communication:

The candidate must have strong English language (verbal and written communication) skills. Candidate should be able to contribute in group meetings, provide project updates, write functional/training documents, and relay information accurately to other parties.

Teamwork and Culture:

The candidate must be culturally compatible with Microchip's values based structure and style and must be able to work with a good work ethic in a collaborative environment with both individual and team decision making. Candidate needs to be proactive, customer-oriented, and be able to learn and adapt quickly in a dynamic and cross-functional environment. Strong interpersonal and team work skills and a solid understanding of data confidentiality with a customer oriented focus are required.
