Accounting Camp Chaperone Description:

Michelle Thomas, Director of Student Development and Diversity at the Farmer School of Business is hiring 6 camp counselors who will stay in a residence hall Thursday night and Friday night, July 18 and19 respectively. The event concludes on Saturday, July 20 in the late afternoon at which time chaperones will be dismissed. The counselors will stay with the 30 high school campers during the 3 days to escort them to various dinners, lunches, presentations, workshops, and activities throughout the three days. The pay rate is $500.00. Counselors are more than welcome to stay as our guests at the dinners and lunches with the accounting firm executives and representatives. The Miami Accounting summer program is designed to introduce top multicultural high school students from the Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus and Cleveland area to a college career at the Farmer School of Business and to Miami University. Interested students must apply and write an essay in order to be considered by the accounting firm executives. Accepted students will be sponsored by the top 5 accounting firms and its partners. All lodging and food will be covered by the accounting firms so students can attend the camp at no cost to them. During the three days, students will participate in branding workshops, social media presentations, team-building exercises, and leadership development presentations. In addition, participants will learn about the accounting profession and how to apply to Miami University.
