Job Description Summary:

The Assistive Technology Intern will assist the Accessible Technology (AT) Team in supporting accessibility fundamentals across the University by providing information and services to enhance equal access for students with and without disabilities. The AT Team is responsible for accessibility policy, procurement and testing of documents, websites, and applications for accessibility. This position requires a minimum of 12 hours per week.

Duties/Physical Demands:

* Work individually and as part of a team to research, analyze, document and test applications, websites or documents for accessibility.
* Draft reports detailing the results from accessibility testing, including suggested fixes.
* Review reports for Quality Assurance (QA).
* Provide technical assistance functions to the AT Team.
* Provide support and training to students, faculty and staff.
* Develop documentation for accessibility ?testing and training.
* Manage incoming requests for accessibility testing and reviews.
* Other duties assigned by supervisors.
* Assist team as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

* A technology or business related background.
* Familiarity with HTML.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe products.
* Understanding of HTML.
* Experience testing applications/websites and writing technical documentation.
* Experience creating flowcharts and diagrams that support process design.
* Ability to learn new technologies and follow instructions to work independently.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Flexible and able to multitask.
* Work independently with minimal supervision.

Work Location:

AccessMU Center, 316 Shriver Center

Hours Per Week/Work Schedule (Student Jobs):

M-F, Flexible, Up to 22 hours during school sessions and up to 40 hours during the summer and winter breaks.
