Job Description

Job Location: United States : Florida : Tampa  

 

Role Value Proposition: 

As a member of the Finance Data Governance (FDG) Team, the Finance Data Governance Lead Business Procedures Consultant will support the development of the data governance tools strategy, mainly, Data Relationship Manager (DRM) and Data Relationship Governance (DRG) in order to streamline, standardize and automate our reference data and hierarchy maintenance process across all of our key financial systems. 

Responsible for identifying areas for implementation of DRM/DRG and developing appropriate plans, securing resources and managing coordination with other areas such as IT, Business Architecture, business users, etc.  

Directs projects and manages contractors and vendors in the execution of the applicable implementation plans.

The individual in this position will play a key role in the operationalization of the Finance Data Governance Program and the applicable tools and providing subject-matter expertise.

This position reports to the VP-Finance Data Governance Lead.

    

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Supports development of strategic direction of DRM/DRG and alignment with other Data Governance tools in support of Finance Data Governance operating model and framework.
  • Develops, maintains and executes the DRM/DRG expansion roadmap
  • Defines project scope and objectives; develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports; and coordinates testing
  • Works with other project leads to identify situations where DRM/DRG applies to ensure related activities are included in those project business requirements, project plans, funding requests, etc. Performs impact analysis of new system integrations
  • Supports impact analysis to reference data (domain/dimension; data elements/properties; base members/data sets; hierarchies) to ensure compliance with Data Governance principles
  • Ensures new implementations or changes to existing applications are reflected in Data Governance  change mgt process
  • Supports the research and resolution of Data Governance issues or complex/non-standard change requests, identifies implications to the Data Governance tools and develops applicable plans
  • Enforces compliance with applicable Data governance policies, procedures and standards as reflected in the applicable tools
  • Supports the design of the change and issue mgt workflows in DRG or other applicable tools in accordance with FDG operating model
  • Supports Data Governance training, communication and educational efforts.
  • Manages critical relationships with consultants and vendors, internal end users, and business customers/leadership.  

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field.
  • PMP or other industry recognized project/program management certification strongly preferred
  • 12+ years of combined experience in Reference Data Management and Technology,  Data Governance or Project Management and in one or more of the following areas: Business Analysis, Finance, Data Management or Data Analysis & Reporting
  • 7+ years of experience with reference data tools such as Oracle DRM and Informatica MDM
  • 7+ years of experience with large system implementations and documentation requirements (preparation of charters, business requirements, project plans, etc.). 
  • Experience working within a Finance organization and knowledge of Finance processes and systems, specifically Oracle Hyperion suite of financial applications.
  • 7+ year’s practical experience integrating reference data tools with existing Finance processes and systems, specifically Oracle Hyperion suite of financial applications.

 

 

Required:

  • Experience working within a Finance organization and knowledge of Finance processes and systems, specifically Oracle Hyperion suite of financial applications.

Preferred:

  • 12+ years of combined experience in Reference Data Management and Technology,  Data Governance or Project Management and in one or more of the following areas: Business Analysis, Finance, Data Management or Data Analysis & Reporting
