Job Description

Position Description:

This entry level engineering position requires strong technical aptitude to help advance the development of an innovative product to treat mitral valve disease. The engineer will work closely with experienced engineers to solve technical challenges, develop new test methods and equipment, and support ongoing builds and testing. The engineer will be responsible for analyzing data and thoroughly documenting results. The engineer will participate in cross-functional development teams responsible for multiple next generation implant designs.

Position Responsibilities:

* Design and develop new test methods and equipment
* Tensile testing and custom functional testing with Instron
* Radial force testing with Iris tester
* Other functional testing such as Hydrodynamic and Accelerated Wear Testing
* Draft equipment and component specifications in SolidWorks
* Data analysis using Excel, MiniTab, and other software
* Dimensional analysis and tolerance stack-ups using SolidWorks
* Material analysis (SEM, visual microscopy, etc)
* Support root cause investigations
* Documentation including MPIs, work instructions, test methods, and component specifications
* Support prototyping and development builds
* Support vendor management

Basic Qualifications:

Education Required

* BS degree in engineering

Years of Experience

* 1+ year of experience developing medical devices

Desired Qualifications:

* Experience with FDA Quality System Regulations and/or ISO 9000 or ISO 13485 Quality Systems
* Experience with medical imaging (e.g. CT, fluoroscopy, etc.)
* Experience with Nitinol design and/or processing
* Ability to solve problems and communicate effectively with engineering personnel.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities, and work efficiently to accomplish each of them in a timely manner.
* Ability to work independently in a team environment

Specialized Knowledge or Skills

* Proficiency in SolidWorks
* Experience with microscopy
