Responsibilities

The School of Arts and Sciences is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach Health Promotion and Education on Tuesday evenings during the Spring 2018 semester. This is a Master's level course required for all Master of Public Health (MPH) candidates. The course outlines the history, evolution and status of the practice of health education among groups of people who define themselves as a community. There is a focus on health behaviors, environmental influences, health policy, and economic and health care system issues in health promotion and disease prevention.

Qualifications

Required:

* An advanced degree (Masters, PhD, or DrPH) in public health or a related field (e.g., sociology, healthcare or a health-related field)
* Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
* A commitment to graduate education and the ability to engage and motivate students

Desired:

* Previous experience teaching public health courses, preferably in a Master's program
* Practical experience in a public health agency, non-profit or other setting at the local, state, tribal, territorial or federal level
