Job Description

McMillen Jacobs Associates has an immediate opening for a Staff Engineer- Civil. This position focuses primarily on the design of tunnels, underground construction, and water infrastructure projects. Our ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of Civil Engineering and interest in design project administration. This is a great opportunity for an entry level engineer to gain a wide range of experience, particularly if the candidate is dynamic, enterprising , enjoys solving complex problems, and wants a job that offers challenges that go beyond what is routine.


* Assist with tunnel and shaft design projects.
* Assist preparation of design reports and presentations.
* Review and analyze engineering data, especially geotechnical and structure information.
* Assist in reviewing construction shop drawings and requests for information.
* Serve in a variety of project roles with varying degrees of leadership and responsibility that will increase over time.
* Communicate effectively with other internal designers and engineers.
* Work on a variety of office and field assignments


* BS in Civil Engineering, EIT preferred
* Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCad Civil 3D programs
* Candidates should be able to multi-task and prioritize work, have strong communication skills and be able to work in a team environment.
* Strong analytical and technical communication skills.
* Willingness to travel domestic for short-term assignments.
