Job Description

Specific Responsibilities:

* Work with Category Manager in developing and monitoring category strategies and plans for all merchandising elements i.e. product mix, pricing strategies, promotional mix, promotional events, corporate brand strategies
* Work with the Category Manager to develop National Planograms in accordance with the timelines provided by the business.
* Manage all timelines across the business to ensure execution meets the critical path set out by the business.
* Provide service and merchandising expertise to the banner members and the various departments within McKesson.
* Work with Category Manager to establish recommended pricing strategies for both regular and promotional pricing.
* Liaison with Merchandising Dept. to ensure all pre-books deals are communicated to wholesale and store communications are posted on banner portals.
* Data input and validation for all promotional flyers, In-Stores and pre-books.
* Review and adhere to critical path schedules for all promotional and seasonal events.
* Research, determine and maintain optimal product mix for Planograms, i.e. core retail listings within BU portfolio.
* Work with dept. analyst to generate and monitor internal sales data coupled with AC Nielsen data to ensure department budgets are achieved.
* Liaise with the control brands team to assist in the development of Private Label products.
* Facilitate new product listings and communicate changes on banner portals.
* Participate in periodic business reviews with pertinent vendors to monitor and track year to date performance.
* Work with Category Manager to negotiate revenues for co-op advertising, including promotional flyers, proprietary magazines, special events.
* Oversee editing of promotional flyers and make appropriate changes in accordance with the timelines provided.

Administration / Miscellaneous

* Oversee communications to DT stores on all functional issues including planogram changes
* Respond promptly and efficiently to all stakeholder inquires to address any issues
* Perform other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

* College Degree in relevant discipline
* 2-3 years relevant department management experience
* 2-3 years' experience managing relevant product categories
* Strong business acumen, ability to see big picture and problem solve
* Excellent communication both written and verbal
* Superior organizational skills
* Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills
* Financial analysis and planning skills
