Mojave Foods Corporation, a subsidiary of McCormick & Company, Inc. and nationwide manufacturer & distributor of Hispanic Consumer Products is seeking a full-time Process Engineer for the plant located in Commerce, CA. This person will report to the Engineering & Maintenance Manager.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Engineering/Maintenance Manager, the Process Engineer will work cross functionally in a team environment with Production, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Quality, and Engineering in the Mojave Plant to improve documentation workflow. The incumbent will analyze the effectiveness and help to improve results of equipment, processes, process control systems, production methods, and procedures within Maintenance, Engineering, Operations and Projects. This is a developmental role for an individual interested in career advancement in Operations or Engineering. Training in the areas of TPM, Continuous Improvement, Reliability Engineering, Projects and HPO Leadership will be provided.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (to include but not limited to):

* Plan, develop, organize, write and edit operational procedures, manuals and related database
* Creating / preparing procedures for contractor's requirements
* Leading and coaching Continuous Improvement teams
* Leading efforts to improve the performance of the plant in the areas of yield and process reliability
* Integrating strategic capital into Operations, including:
* learning the full function and operation of new equipment


* Preparing technical requirements and projects documentation
* Provide Maintenance, Engineering, TPM and CI reports
* Creating, updating, and integrating mechanical drawings in AutoCAD
* Leading and supporting safety initiatives to include performing risk assessments
* Develop training materials and supporting training activities
* Support leadership with other assigned duties and tasks

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering or in Engineering Technology
* Relevant production and/or engineering experience in a manufacturing plant (co-op and internship experience will be considered)
* Knowledge of plant operations
* Knowledge of packaging equipment and/or processing equipment
* Experience working collaboratively in a team-based environment
* The desire to eventually manage / supervise others
* Strong PC Skills (MS Excel, MS Access, AutoCAD)
* Ability and willingness to work flexible hours and days as needed to meet business demands

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Minimum one year of relevant production and/or engineering experience in a manufacturing plant (co-op and internship experience will be considered)
* Bilingual - Spanish
* Experience leading teams to achieve specific goals
* Experience developing and writing procedures (SOP's) with cross functional teams
* Experience leading and coaching process improvement and/or continuous improvement teams
* Experience and knowledge of the food manufacturing industry
* Experience developing justifications and cost estimates for capital projects
* Experience developing training materials and supporting training activities
* Experience utilizing formal troubleshooting methods on manufacturing equipment/processes
* Excellent communication skills
