A Post-Doctoral Research Fellow position in Pharmacogenomics and Functional Genomics is open in the program of Dr. Richard Weinshilboum. This program is devoted to studies of the role of genomics in variation in drug response, including drugs that are used to treat diseases that range from cancer to depression by using genome-wide genomics, metabolomics and other "omics" techniques. Requirements for the position include a Ph.D. and /or M.D. degree with past laboratory research experience involving molecular genetics, molecular biology and functional genomics. The role of the person in this position is to extend ongoing research and publish meaningful pharmacogenomic and functional genomic research.
A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic. 800146; J2WRTP
Must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field relevant by the program. Research Fellow is appropriate for individuals who have completed no more than one prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere.
