Department: CPPO

A Life-Changing Career


Responsibilities: This position manages multi-disciplinary teams in the operations, maintenance, documentation, and implementation and control of complex utility and building service systems and serves as the primary resource for day-to-day technical guidance. Drives productivity and timely resolution to complex engineering problems. Establishes and maintains standards for high work quality and continuously evaluates opportunities for operational improvements. Makes judgments, directs staff, and takes immediate action required to maintain service delivery and continuity, ensuring minimal system downtime. Manages required inspections, testing, and documentation of systems for regulatory compliance. Promotes and facilitates high ethical standards, teamwork, process improvement, and improved safety. Responsible for the operating budget of the organization and assists the Unit Head in creating the annual budget. Systems and programs managed by this position include, but are not limited to: Building Automation Systems; Environmental and Refrigeration Monitoring Systems (i.e. TempTrak); Utility Plant Systems (Chilled Water Distribution, Heating Hot Water Distribution, Normal and Emergency Power Distribution, Hard and Soft Water Distribution, Storm and Waste Water Systems); Fire Alarm and Sprinkler Systems; Pneumatic Tube Systems; Building Commissioning and Retro-commissioning; Waterborne Pathogen Testing.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in engineering or job related field is preferred. An Associate's degree or 2 year vocational certificate/license is required with a minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management. In lieu of degree requirement a minimum of 10 years demonstrated experience in facilities management with 4 years of experience within a healthcare setting is preferred. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

Additional Qualifications: A complete understanding of the impact building controls, commissioning, and retro commissioning have on energy management is necessary; Proficiency with Building Automation Systems and components (i.e. Niagara or Honeywell); Working knowledge of the Commissioning and Retro Commissioning process; Knowledge and understanding of AHCA and TJC standards; Willing to be available for Facilities emergencies.

Compensation Detail: Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $2326.40, based on a full-time position.
Hours/Pay Period: 80
Schedule Details: Regular schedule is day shift Monday - Friday.
Weekend Schedule: Occasional weekends for emergencies and planned construction work.
