A Life-Changing Career

Position Summary: This job is a part time .3FTE position at North Central University (NCU) as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for the institution for Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine at Mayo Clinic Square in Minneapolis.
As outlined in the "responsibilities" section below, the primary job requirements are to take care of the NCU student athletes within the guidelines of Mayo Clinic and NCU. The goal is to provide the best medical care possible for those student athletes so they can be healthy and perform at their highest levels.

Responsibilities: Primarily provides athletic training services as an assistant to the head athletic trainer for the athletic programs at North Central University in Minneapolis. Participates in other Mayo outreach activities, as available, as a representative of Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research.

Qualifications: A baccalaureate or graduate degree in athletic training and certification by the National Athletic Trainer's Association is required. Must be eligible for state registration. CPR certification is required. Must be able to demonstrate clinical proficiency with good manual dexterity in order to manipulate treatment equipment. Must have strong communication and human relation skills to interact with clinicians, administrators, students, coaches, parents, etc.

Additional Qualifications: At least one year experience working as an athletic trainer in a clinical setting is preferred.

Status as a certified strength and conditioning specialist preferred.

Masters degree in Sports Medicine or related field preferred.

Prefer a minimum of one to three years of college/university athletic training experience
Prefer someone who is experienced working with multiple sports and athletes at a collegiate level along with someone who is organized, willing to work well with others, good at communications, and understands and follows the expectations of working with other leaders and support staff.

Compensation Detail: Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $20.69 per hour.
Hours/Pay Period: 12
Schedule Details: the work schedule will be fairly consistent for most of the school year as indicated below with a few exceptions because of school breaks:
beginning in mid/late August will work a full time week then move to part time hours of 20 - 30 depending on the week until you get to November. From Nov 13th will not be expected to work until February 12th when spring sports begin. Will work until end of April similar schedule of 20 - 30 hours depending on events that are at the school vs. away. Total hours of work would be roughly 600 total for entire school year.

Will provided daily hours of services to NCU during peak sports seasons in the fall and spring along with all home sports events predetermined by Head Athletic Trainer and Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine Leadership including the Supervisor of Athletic Training services.

Weekend Schedule: will work occasional weekends in the fall and again in the later winter/spring as the team's schedules dictate.
