Department: Neurodiagnostics and Sleep Lab

A Life-Changing Career


Responsibilities: The Sleep/Neurodiagnostic Technologist is a multi-skilled technologist who demonstrates independence and the ability to perform high quality procedures. The Sleep/Neurodiagnostic Technologist is responsible for complete and accurate patient preparation, data acquisition and data analysis. The Sleep/Neurodiagnostic Tech assimilates data from several sources and anticipates initiation of care; alters protocols/procedural steps in accordance to findings, maximizing data derived from the procedure(s). He/she must maintain vigilance and attention to detail, in an often non-stimulating environment. Participates in the on-call rotation in the department.

Qualifications: Graduate of accredited electroneurodiagnostics (END) program or equivalent.Credentials in electroencephalography (EEG) (Regsitered EEG Technologist) highly desirable.Eligibility to sit for R. EEG Technologist exams, with successful completion of both written and oral exam within one year of employment. Broad-base knowledge in END science and procedures, including EEG, Evoked Potential (EP), Polysomnography (PSG).Able to work with and communicate effectively with all levels of health care professionals.Able to function independently and as a part of a team.Able to understand written communication and documentation and to communicate effectively with patients and their relatives.Ability to perform high quality neurodiagnostic procedures in the lab or at bedside, includingelectroencephalographic (EEG), all modalities of evoked potentials (EP), Multiple Sleep Latency test (MSLT), and Maintenance of Wakefulness test (MWT).Ability to edit long-term video and ambulatory EEG's.

Additional Qualifications: Credentials in electroencephalography (EEG) (Registered EEG Technologist), or Nerve Conduction Studies (CNCT or R. NCS T.) highly desirable. Broad-base knowledge in END science and procedures, including EEG, NCS, Evoked Potential (EP), Polysomnography (PSG). Able to work with and communicate effectively with all levels of health care professionals. Able to function independently and as a part of a team. Able to understand written communication and documentation and to communicate effectively with patients and their relatives. Exemption Status: Non-exempt
Compensation Detail: Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $22.35 per hour.
Hours/Pay Period: 80
Schedule Details: Primarily day shift, some nights possible. Participates in the on-call rotation in the department.
