Responsibilities: A board certified/eligible family physician is needed to join four board certified family physicians at Mayo Clinic Health System - Franciscan Healthcare in Prairie du Chien, WI. The practice will include the full range of Family Medicine, including obstetrics, and call will be equally shared among the physicians. Our full-time Prairie du Chien physicians enjoy a 4-day work week. The Prairie du Chien practice has flourished since its opening in 1999, requiring a major facility expansion/remodeling project in 2008, adding exam and procedure rooms. This full-scope, high-quality Family Medicine practice offers the best of a small group setting in a quaint and historic river community with support from a large multispecialty group/ healthcare network. Mayo Clinic Health System - Franciscan Healthcare has more than 250 physicians and associate providers at ten clinic offices and two hospitals in the tri-state area of western Wisconsin, southeastern Minnesota and northeastern Iowa, serving a primary care population base of 240,000. Our main clinic and 250-bed medical center are located in LaCrosse, WI, 60 miles north of Prairie du Chien.

Prairie du Chien is one of the Upper Midwest's more scenic communities with a population of 6,000 and a service are of 22,000. Prairie du Chien is located on the beautiful Upper Mississippi River, offering ideal fishing and boating opportunities. The area is also great for hunting, hiking, biking, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. The community offers an ideal family environment with high-quality and safe schools. Prairie du Chien is well known for its historical interests, scenic beauty and activities associated with the Mississippi River. Within 60 miles, there are nine colleges and universities, including UW-La Crosse, Viterbo University, Luther College, the University of Dubuque, Loras College and two technical colleges. There are unlimited, four-season recreational, educational and cultural opportunities available in the Prairie du Chien area, as well as in La Crosse, Madison, WI, and Dubuque, IA. Madison is 90 minutes east, and Dubuque is 45 minutes south of Prairie du Chien.
