Job Description

This summer MassChallenge is looking for an Events Intern to join our team New England Events Team (NEET) in Boston. This is an exciting opportunity to join us as we run our 11th year of the Boston accelerator and dive into a summer full of big goals resulting in high impact with HealthTech and FinTech Accelerators.

As the Events Intern, you will support the Events Manager in the planning and execution of a wide variety of programs and activities at MassChallenge, and will have direct access to the entire event planning process from start to finish. Events are an integral part of the MassChallenge brand, as they seek to provide a meaningful experience for all finalists, partners and community members. From office operations to vendor communication, creative planning to event management, you will get incredible access to hands-on experience and mentorship. What Youll Do

* Event Pre-Production
* Research venues, vendors and new sponsorship opportunities to help curate event resources and sponsorship packages.
* Own key pieces of event pre-production and execution including, but not limited to, tracking event status and keeping extended team on task, drafting event schedules, building registration pages, printing event materials, managing material distribution, vendor research, invoice tracking and submission, tracking ticket sales, assisting in event promotion, overall logistic support.

* Event Production & Support
* Coordinate and manage on-site venue preparations and breakdowns.
* Troubleshoot and problem solve during events.

* Post-Event Support
* Collect and analyze event data and provide in-depth evaluations post-event.

* Summer-Long Project
* Your manager will provide you with the details of a project that you will develop and/or contribute to throughout the duration of the summer internship program. The project, while specific to your teams needs, will ultimately seek to advance the MassChallenge mantra: Help Entrepreneurs Win! At the close of the internship program, you will have the opportunity to present your summer long project to MassChallenge staff.

* Assist in all other duties as assigned.

* You thrive in fast-paced environments and can quickly think on your feet.
* You are confident at communicating both written and verbally with a variety of stakeholders (vendors, sponsors, VIPs, etc.).
* You have ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple tasks; comfortable working under tight deadlines while staying positive and have a can do attitude.
* You are passionate about startups and entrepreneurship.

This summer internship at MassChallenge will start in late May (on or after May 18th) starting with a comprehensive intern onboarding day. We expect most internships to end on Friday, August 14th or Friday, August 21st. If you have a schedule conflict, please communicate that to the hiring manager during the interview process. This will not disqualify you, but is important information as we plan onboarding and offboarding for the 2020 Summer Intern cohort.
