Job Description

This will be an entry-level Staff Validation Engineer position located in the Santa Clara, CA headquarters Design Center.
On-the-job training will be provided.

Responsible for running bench level tests
to validate the functionality of read channel IP core. The candidate will
perform experiments on HDD electronics in a lab environment using custom
evaluations system hardware, software and firmware. Responsible for documenting
the experiment procedures and produce professional reports showcasing
experimental results. Present and defend results to managers, architecture team
leads and designers. Collaborate with design and architecture teams to produce
application notes and other written documentation, reference software, software
libraries and other technical information for new and existing features in HDD

MSEE 0 years experience
Prefer experience or classes in signals systems or DSP and analog electronics basics. Prefer experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscope, AWG, etc. Prefer experience or classes in clock data recovery methods in communications systems. Must have programming experience with MATLAB and\or Python. Prefer some exposure to firmware and low-level programming. Must have good written and verbal communications skills. This is a position for a bright and engaged candidate with interest in gaining hands-on experience in electronic communications channels, signal processing, electronic hardware design and firmware design. This is NOT a VLSI design, ASIC design or software applications design position.
