Job Description

Marcus Hotels & Resorts seeks an energetic and inquisitive Human Resources Intern to work with and support our corporate HR leadership team. The ideal candidate is a current student or recent graduate who is able to commit to full-time, year round work and dedicate themselves to learning and career growth with a leader in the hospitality and service industry.

This role supports the initiatives, projects and activities related to Corporate Talent Acquisition, Training and Development and Generalist Human Resources functions through administrative and project-based assignments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Provide on-going support regarding talent acquisition systems, processes and practices


* Assist with sourcing, screening and creating offers via our applicant tracking system (Taleo) as directed


* Support HRIS (PeopleSoft) system admin needs, associate record updates and position management


* Assist with projects and special assignments related to a variety of talent acquisition, associate training and human resource needs


* Work with other divisional and corporate Human Resource team members to support the general function and success of the organization


* Perform administrative duties including associate file creation, maintenance, management and audit


* Support onboarding of new hires as needed


* Attend community based career meetings, events and fairs in support of talent engagement and recruitment needs


* Assist with preparing training materials, packets and supporting learning management system updates and administration


* Take on cross functional and support duties, such as covering corporate reception desk during lunch and as necessary


* Support Corporate & Divisional community outreach initiatives and associate event planning and execution



POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

* Pursuing a degree in HR or related field


* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


* A positive attitude and eager approach to learning


* General knowledge of computer systems including Microsoft Office


* High degree of organization and motivation


* Ability to analyze and strategize


* Ability to maintain a high level of professional appearance, demeanor, ethic, confidentiality and image of self/others
