The JHRPS Pricing Team is part of the North American Pricing team that operates under the WAM Finance Team. The team provides pricing, underwriting, reporting and analytics support to various internal teams within JHRPS including Sales, Relationship Management, Finance and Sr. Management.

As part of the JHRPS Pricing Team, the Pricing Intern Analyst is responsible for analytics and reporting required to support our Business Intelligence, Finance, Senior Management, Relationship Manager and the Sales Organizations. This includes financial analytics and reporting that relate to pricing and underwriting of existing and prospective clients as well as analytics relating to competition and marketplace in coordination with both internal and external partners.

Job description and duties:

* Analyze documentation for any new prospective clients received throughout the pre-sale process to determine all business, financial and operational risks.
* Analyze financial and pricing information in relation to our overall business strategy for our in-force business to help determine any related financial risks to the organization.
* Collaborate with sales and relationship management to help them understand key pricing, strategy and financial metrics for their specific clients.
* Will assist in the collection and analysis of market competitive information.
* Provide technical support for the department as needed, this includes Excel, PowerPoint and other financial applications.
* Complete special projects and ad hoc analysis as required.

Required skills and qualifications:

* Experience with financial reporting, pricing, underwriting or risk analysis, and marketplace analytics.
* Must have strong analytic, communication and writing skills.
* Attention to detail and strong business/client judgment.
* Organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
* Demonstrated track record of success.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
* Strong work ethic, positive attitude, eager to learn and take on new responsibilities.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across departments within the organization.
* Strong Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access and Data Warehouse Skills.
* Experience with VBA coding a plus.

What the student will learn:

* Will learn the Defined Contribution and Defined Benefit marketplace including product design, pricing strategies, competitive landscape and underwriting techniques.
* Will gain experience in the planning and budgeting process for client fee concessions.
* Will gain experience in negotiation skills and gain a deeper knowledge of the fee renewal process.
* Will gain experience working in a fast paced corporate environment requiring organization and prioritization skills.
* Will gain skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other applications used by the Pricing Team.

Minimum GPA desired: 3.00

Relevant majors of study: Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field.
