Job Description

Manning & Napier is headquartered in Fairport, NY with additional offices in St. Petersburg, FL, Columbus OH and Seattle, WA. Founded in 1970, we provide a broad range of investment solutions, as well as a variety of consultative services that complement our investment process. We serve a diversified client base of high-net-worth individuals and institutions, including 401(k) plans, pension plans, Taft-Hartley plans, endowments and foundations. For many of these clients, the relationship goes beyond investment management, and includes customized solutions that address key issues and solve client-specific problems. We are currently recruiting for an individual to join our Research Team.

Summary

The Research Assistant will work closely with a team of Analysts to provide analytical coverage of the firm's Sector Teams. The Assistant will conduct company-and-industry specific research and analysis assisting Analysts in recommending equities in client's accounts and the firm's in-house funds.

Responsibilities

* Provide strategic, industry, company-specific and macro-economic analysis for investment ideas
* Working with other associates to create financial models including projections and valuation analyses as the basis for making investment recommendations
* Preparing written research reports (including industry overviews, income statements, cash flow statements and balance sheets)
* Research, collect, and analyze pertinent information from various sources, including online sources, newspapers, reference works, databases, etc.
* Summarize, organize and present research results and recommendations to Senior Analysts

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree with a concentration in finance, economics or related field with a strong record of academic achievement
* Experience participating in an investment club a plus
* Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
* Excellent knowledge of finance and accounting
* Outstanding interpersonal and written communication skills
* Highly motivated, committed and responsible, with a demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word software programs
* Progress towards a CFA a plus
