Job Description

Manhattan College seeks adjunct instructors to teach undergraduate general psychology courses beginning in fall 2018. The candidate should give evidence of excellent and innovative teaching. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to teach a broad range of psychology courses and have an expertise and strong research agenda in the area of social sciences.

Section II: Responsibilities

Reports to: Dean of Continuing and Professional Studies

Responsibilities:

* Attendance at programmatic/professional developmental meetings.
* Collaborate with Camino academic coach to ensure the student is advised and instructed regarding programs of study and effective study skills.
* Observe and evaluate student performance in meeting course level objectives and student learning outcomes through assignments, projects, discussions, and examinations; provide feedback promptly to student inquiries in class, online, or during established consultation office hours.
* Maintain current, accurate records of course enrollment, attendance student academic progress, course curriculum, and student learning outcomes; prepare and submit data and reports related to course and student progress in a timely manner.
* May attend and participate in committees and program meetings.
* Perform related duties as assigned.

Section III: Qualifications

Qualifications

* Candidates for consideration must have a completed a Ph.D. or Master's degree in Psychology

And

* ESL professional - certification in (Adult) TESOL, Applied Linguistics
* A letter of application, CV, and names of three references
