Job Description

Plaintiff's law firm located in Downtown Cleveland, has an immediate opening for an experienced, Full time legal assistant in the Mass Tort and Medicare Subrogation Department.

The essential duties of this position include providing administrative support to a Partner, but also include the following:

Daily attorney and client contact

Maintain client files along with paper and electronic court filings

Prepare with accuracy correspondence and other legal documents

Request and follow-up on client medical record requests

Photocopy, fax, and scan various documents

Perform administrative and data entry duties

Schedule and maintain Partner's calendar of court dates, meetings, and travel itineraries.

An applicant with experience and an Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is preferred; however, an applicant with five to ten years of experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.

The ideal candidate must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

Highly organized and detail-oriented

Extensive knowledge of legal terminology, concepts and procedures

Experience with Medicare subrogation claims

Experience with pharmaceutical litigation claims

A high-level of proficiency in Microsoft Office

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to problem solve and prioritize work efficiently to meet deadlines

Team-oriented with an ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
