Job Description

Our client is a well-respected, mid-size law firm in an eastern suburb of Cleveland.

The attorneys of this firm represent customers nationwide from Cleveland, Ohio and offer a full spectrum of legal services to individuals and business clients of all sizes, ranging from family-owned enterprises to multi-million dollar national and international corporations, tax-exempt organizations, governmental bodies, charities, foundations and public organizations.

Ideally, this firm is seeking to hire an attorney with 7 plus years of experience assisting high net individuals in creatively solving their estate planning and trust plan issues.

The range of responsibilities will include advising clients on the following:

Estate planning - Services for wealth transfer and estate planning range from simple wills to complex trust arrangements

Tax planning - Reduction of the impact of gift, estate and generation skipping taxes

Business Succession Planning - Comprehensive plans provide your business with a timely and smooth transition upon retirement, sale, disability or death

Probate - Guidance for fiduciaries in the administration of trusts and the Estate, assistance in the distribution of non-probate assets and preparation of estate tax returns

Litigation - Representation in will challenges, undue influence claims and fiduciary conduct cases

Property ownership - Advice on proper ownership of assets and beneficiary designations

Charitable giving - Implementation of effective methods to achieve your charitable goals

Asset protection - Structuring of asset ownership to provide security for your family

Business and Estate Documents

A focus on preparing these documents after careful review of the client's objectives, family relationship concerns and potential tax consequences:

Trusts: revocable trusts, testamentary trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts (GRATs), life insurance trusts, charitable lead annuity trusts (CLATs), charitable remainder trusts (CRTs), intentionally defective grantor trusts, qualified sub-chapter S trusts, electing small business trusts (ESBTs), spendthrift trusts, Q TIP trusts, dynasty trusts
Powers of attorney: durable power of attorney, health care power of attorney
Living wills
Buy-sell agreements
Shareholder agreements
Limited liability company operating agreements
Family limited partnerships

While a portable book of business is preferred, it is not required for the practitioner with "on point" expertise in this practice area.
