Job Description

Excellent leadership opportunity as General Counsel for a small privately owned shopping center developer/owner/manager.

Our client has more than forty years experience as a full-service retail shopping center development company headquartered NE Ohio. This company has developed over 2 million square feet of shopping centers nationwide, and their property holdings span three states including Ohio.

Job Description
.Draft and negotiate legal documents. Assume the lead role in negotiations that are complex, strategic or sensitive in nature.
. Assist the company in assessing and addressing legal issues and risk exposure; understand overall business risk tolerance
and help implement risk management strategies and actions.
. Establish a wide network of relationships; build rapport with associates and colleagues at all levels within the company.
. Identify outside counsel where needed and manage and oversee their work.
. Perform other related duties as requested.

Minimum Qualifications
. Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited law school with an active license in the state of Ohio.
. At least 3-5 years of experience practicing real estate law within a corporate or law firm setting specializing in shopping center
development, ownership, and management.
. Hands on experience writing and negotiating the following representative documents: letters of intent, leases, construction
contracts, loan documents, operating agreements, development agreements, purchase/sale agreements, easement
agreements, and title policies with accompanying survey.
. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

. Strong oral and written communication skills.
. Decision-making ability to set work priorities and make recommendations.
. Ability to lead, initiate, organize and coordinate complex real estate projects.
. Take the lead role in negotiations that are complex, strategic or sensitive in nature.
. Strong leadership and management skills.
