Job IntroductionThe Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for providing financial and administrative in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations.

Major Responsibilities-Follow and abide by all government, Legal, Magna and P&F rules and regulations as outlined in the Employee Handbook.\r

* Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction activities.\r
* Ensure price and quantities of supplier's invoice, supplier's packing slip, purchase order, requisition agree and obtain approvals from appropriate people i.e, have their initials for each transaction.\r
* Adjust invoices for any discrepancies in price, quantity, HST, etc.\r
* Liaise with other departments to resolve discrepancies and disputes.\r
* Respond to suppliers questions concerning payment and work with suppliers to improve efficiency.\r
* Verify or confirm different balances for vendor audit purposes.\r
* Produce cheques or electronic payments, obtain signature and issue to suppliers.\r
* Reconcile Month End Sub-Ledger to General Ledger for key control accounts.\r
* Record entries for HST on purchases.\r
* Enter invoices according to the company's Chart of Accounts and ensure the coding is reasonable.\r
* Maintain files for paid supplier invoices. Posting journals, cheque register, numerical record of cheques should be maintained on a continuous basis and stored in the fire proof cabinet.\r
* Together with Inventory Control, ensure goods received but not entered into accounts payable are accrued each month end.\r
* Administer company expense reports.\r
* Work together with Finance team for a more efficient month end cut off and improved administration procedures.\r
* Adherence to Magna monthly Closing Calendar and other deadlines.\r
* Work within the guidelines of the Employee Handbook.\r
* Perform month end duties (i.e. GL postings, supplier reconciliation and account analysis).\r
* Prepare Month end accruals and entry G/L journals, communicate to key staff in Finance Department.\r
* Agree Balances with other Magna divisions on a monthly basis.\r
* Attend training as required or as assigned.\r
* All other duties as assigned.\r

Knowledge and Education-Grade 12 or equivalent, University or College degree\r

* Working knowledge of an ERP system would be an advantage\r
* Good Mathematical skills and understanding\r
* Basic bookkeeping skills \r
* Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word\r
* ISO-14001 Overview\r
* IATF-16949\r
* Awareness and adherence to Sarbane's Oxley (SOX 404)\r

Work Experience1 year's working experience as Accounts Payable in manufacturing environment, preferably automotive
