Job Description

MAG INSTRUMENT, INC., the manufacturer of the Mag-Lite ® flashlight, has an immediate opening for a self-motivated individual to work as a Control/Test Engineer. We are looking for a highly motivated graduate or graduating senior to join our growing and future oriented team located in Ontario, California.

Summary/Objective

The Engineer will be responsible for designing, modifying, and maintaining new and already in place automated test/assembly machines. As a team member of the Mag Engineering group they will have responsibility to ensure that these automated test/assembly machines produce product to specifications.

Key attributes for this position are as follows

* Ability to learn trouble shooting and programing complex production equipment including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electromechanical, electronic and laser optics equipment
* Understanding of Servo and Stepper Motors
* Ability to understand and design Electrical Schematics
* Automation system design (Electrical, PLC, Sensors, etc.)
* PLC programming of custom automatic assembly machines
* Knowledge in embedded C programming
* Familiarity with interfacing 3V/5V electronic circuitry with 24V PLC electrical controls
* Willingness to learn and move at fast pace

Potential candidates will have knowledge in one or more of the following categories

* Electrical/Electronic analog and digital hardware design
* Electrical connectors
* Stepper Motors & Controls
* Servo Motors & controls
* AC Motor Controls (VFD)
* DC Motor Controls (90V, 130V DC Controllers)
* Pneumatic and Hydraulic Actuators
* Sensors: Optical, Laser, Proximity

Work Environment

The successful candidate will be able to function in both an office and production floor environments.

Travel

This position requires 0% travel

Required Education

* BSCE or BSEE or BSCSE
* (Bachelors of Science: Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering)

Additional Experience Desired

* Electrical Schematic drawing (AutoCAD, DraftSight)
* Experience with the PLC/PACs and corresponding Software applications (GE Fanuc, Allen Bradley, Siemens, TI-Soft2Software, Koyo) a plus
* Vision Camera Systems (Cognex, Keyence, National Instruments)
* HMI (Operator Displays)
* Must be proficient with Multimeter, and Amp Meter
* SolidWorks
