Overview

Summary:

Ello's Century City office is looking for an organized, motivated and professional Intern to join our fast-growing Capital Markets Advisory group. Under supervision, the Summer Analyst/Intern performs basic entry-level functions related to Capital Markets including buy-side and sell-side mergers and acquisitions (M&A) advisory, capital raising, valuations, forecasting, financial analyses, and industry research. This role supports a variety of business models and sub-sectors within the cannabis industry, including public and private companies of all sizes.

Essential Functions:

* Assists with certain aspects of financial and operational models under various operating scenarios and capital structures
* Contributes to development of presentation materials including investor pitch decks, client presentation documents and marketing materials
* Assists deal teams in preparing company valuations using numerous methodologies including discounted cash flow analysis, comparable public company analysis, precedent transactions analysis, and leveraged buyout analysis
* Performs high-level financial analyses and due diligence on clients and transactions
* Supports Research & Analytics Team in performing ad-hoc industry research, including analyzing companies, transactions, and valuation metrics across different industry sub-sectors
* Supports key strategic data and analytics initiatives within the organization
* Remains informed on market trends

Minimum Qualifications:

* Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or other equivalent field at an accredited 4-year University.
* 1-2 full-time internships that reflect relevant business experience in financial services or investment banking
* Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel and PowerPoint)
* Proficient knowledge of finance and accounting principles, including comfortability in understanding financial statements
* Researching skills, to effectively research and gather information from both internal and external resources, including independently-guided research into opportunities

* Strong desire to learn about investment banking, transaction services and the cannabis industry
* Ability to manage several tasks concurrently
* Self-starter and team player who can be comfortable in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment
* Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, in English
* Must have excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skill
* Ability to work independently, as needed
* Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
