BUSINESS FINANCE MANAGER

Lycoming County Water and Sewer Authority, an independent operating water, wastewater, stormwater authority with approximately 8,500 accounts and a $7.0M budget, is accepting applications for Business Finance Manager.  The position is responsible for the effective and efficient management of accounting, budgeting, finance, and general office operations, and is responsible for the functions of the Administration Department. 

This position is a full-time salaried position responsible for completing, directing and managing the activities related to overall business management, accounting and fiscal reporting as well as manage day to day administrative functions.  The Business Finance Manager:

  • Oversees and assists with accounting/administrative duties of the organization
  • Prepares, maintains, and/or verifies a variety of accounting/financial transactions
  • Prepares and reviews monthly financial reporting for Board of Directors
  • Analyzes financial performance, prepares budgets, and recommends user rates
  • Serves as lead to professional services - auditors, financial institutions, and legal
  • Manages contracts/subcontracts, grants, and vendor agreements
  • Provides risk management support to ensure organization is adequately insured.

The Business Finance Manager reports directly to the Executive Director.

The successful candidate must possess a four-year bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related field with progressive experience, and must demonstrate the ability to plan, organize, prioritize, coordinate, assign, evaluate, complete and manage their work, and supervise the work of staff, auditors, and outside consultants.

Excellent computer and software skills with a focus on advanced Excel knowledge is required. Fund accounting and/or cost accounting background is a plus! Successful candidate must be professional in dealing with customers, have excellent verbal and written communications skills, and be team oriented.  The position requires a background check, drug testing and a valid driver's license.

Salary range is $70,000 - $85,000 and is dependent on education, progressive successful work history, proven reliability in managing higher level responsibilities, accounting and budgetary experience, supervisory/team building skills, and business management experience.  Excellent comprehensive benefits package!
