Reporting Relationships

* Business Analyst Intern reports to Senior Business Analyst.

Essential Job Functions

The purpose of this position is to analyze business processes, optimize resource utilization and design future business state.

* Participates in interviews and meetings with stakeholders to gather business requirements.
* Assists in analysis and documents business requirements, processes and data needs for an area's current-state and/or proposed future-state system using standard templates.
* Explores alternatives and potential solutions to business needs, issues and problems.
* Recommends improvements to optimize business processes.
* Assists with conversion of business requirements into system requirements.
* Performs application testing and analyzes results.
* Audits and defines metrics and data to achieve desired business outcomes.
* Maintains training and reference materials.

RequirementsEducation and Experience

* Classified as college Sophomore, Junior or Senior.
* Minimum GPA: 3.0.
* Majors: Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Information Technology and Computer Science.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

* Knowledge of structured analysis method, tools and techniques, preferred.
* Knowledge of software development lifecycle, process improvement and/or process reengineering, preferred.
* Familiarity with business analyst skillset (i.e. requirements gathering, modeling), preferred.
* Microsoft Office tools (i.e. Word, Excel, Access, Visio), IT/systems analysis concepts and processes.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Has understanding and ability to link IT and business process, methods and solutions to organizational business needs.
* Assumes Ownership: Takes responsibility for one's actions and objectives.
* Builds Authentic Relationships: Appears empathetic, attempts to understand others, and treats others with compassion.
* Collaborates: Displays an interest in others' involvement and offers encouragement and support for their initiatives.
