Job Description

We stand for COMPASSIONATE CARE. Have a voice in the care of patients. It takes a different kind of person to become a nurse. Because it's not just about medicine. It's about treating patients like people, and changing lives in the way we care for them. At Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, this is not a job we take lightly. This unique program goes beyond the traditional new graduate program by providing a comprehensive evidenced-based transition that prepares new graduate nurses for a highly complex and fast-paced acute care environment. The 5 month RN Residency will provide you with a supportive network of senior nurses, preceptors, mentors and debriefers to help augment your academic education with professional, clinical experience. Beyond one-on-one guided clinical experience with a preceptor, classes and skills lab education and a structured mentor program, this unique residency offers an easy-to-use web portal and supportive self-care/debriefing groups. Candidates for the Residency Program may also apply for the Ann L. Johnson Scholar Program. For more information, click the link on the LPCH Residency Program web page.
