SAP BW-BI Lead Analyst

The SAP BW-BI Lead Analyst is responsible for the implementation, support, and maintenance of the SAP BW and BI systems along with general oversight and support for other key related systems.


  • Project Lead for SAP BW/BOBJ related implementations, enhancements, and projects which may include hands-on development or supervision of on-site consultants and remote resources
  • Support the BI footprint with special attention to business needs and training in usage of these tools
  • Work closely with other members of the SAP COE Team to continue the development of FI-CO, HCM and MM reporting in BI/BW
  • Work with the business to bridge the gap between understanding of requirements, functional specifications, testing, and delivery
  • Prepare test plans and scripts, and perform unit, integration and regression testing during projects and coordinate end-user testing.
  • Assist super-users in the creation of BPPs and training material
  • Responsibilities to HR/Payroll
  • Require Knowledge in handling HR extractors in Payroll, Time, OM and PA
  • Analyze BI reporting requirements and performing gap analysis in the areas of SAP HR-Time Management, CATS, Personnel Administration and Personnel Development and Payroll Modules of HCM
  • Experience in creating Enhanced Employee Master data sources to extract custom fields and related custom objects in HR area


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with 10+ years IT experience
  • 7+ year's hands-on technical experience with SAP BW and BOBJ
  • Skilled with various business processes, root cause identification and analysis of performance issues
  • Extensive knowledge of SAP Business Objects Platform (all versions), Design Studio (Scripting, CSS, JS), Lumira (BOBJ Platform/BW/Universe/HANA/Cloudera), Information Design Tool (IDT - Universe Design), Dashboard Design (Xcelsius), Web Intelligence, MS Analysis for Office & OLAP, Lifecycle Management Tool, Translation Management Tool, Live Office, QaaWS, Crystal Reports, Data Services, Text Analysis, Strategy Management, and BEx Query Designer.
  • Experience in In-Memory and MPP Databases is not a requirement, but a definite plus as is knowledge of modern BI Platforms such as QlikView, Tableau and SAP Lumira.
  • SAP certification(s) strongly preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - proven ability to take business requirements from concept to production
  • Experience working with on-site consultants and remote resources
