The Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at Louisiana State University is searching for an Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Cardiology. This position will provide service in cardiology in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at the School of Veterinary Medicine. Participate in training of veterinary students, interns and residents within the cardiology section. Participate in the didactic and tutorial instructional programs of the School of Veterinary Medicine. Participate in scholarly activities within the Veterinary Clinical Services department and cardiology section. This position eligible for clinical track or tenure track academic stats based on qualifications.

Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Cardiology (clinical track)

70% - Provide clinical expertise and deliver cardiology services for all species: Provide direct patient care for animals presented to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Participate in and help supervise the veterinary cardiology service of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Cooperate and collaborate with other clinical faculty in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Support the emergency duty clinicians through provision or supervision of the veterinary cardiology service when requested. Participate in intern and residency training programs in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital.

30% - Scholarly activity to include teaching and research: Participate in the didactic and tutorial instructional programs of the School of Veterinary Medicine. Cooperate with other faculty members in the development of teaching programs, visual aids and other instructional materials. Participate in the school's research program. Participate in continuing education and public relations programs of the School of Veterinary Medicine.

Minimum Qualifications (all levels):

DVM or equivalent degree

Residency trained with anticipated board certification by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine or the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine

Special or Physical Qualifications (all levels):

Per PS 18- This position is a part of the Emergency Response Personnel - these personnel are linked with the hospital during any emergency response event and are expected to report in and perform as outlined in the emergency response plan.

Required to be capable of lifting up to 40 pounds, standing or walking for prolonged periods, able to reach and/or climb a ladder, kneel or sit on the floor, bending, squatting, and/or twisting.
