The Department of Biological Sciences at Louisiana State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Comparative/ Integrative Physiology. A PhD or equivalent degree in biological sciences or a related field, postdoctoral experience and a record of creative and significant research in any area of animal physiology (non-mammalian model systems preferred) are required. Integrative physiology involves understanding function at multiple levels from cells to organ systems. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a vigorous, extramurally funded research program and contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching; participate in service activities pertaining to the mission of the Department and advancement of the profession.

Duties

50% Develop and maintain an independent and vigorous, extramurally funded research program the broad area of Comparative Integrative Physiology.

50% Teach undergraduate and/or graduate level courses in a biological sciences discipline and direct/supervise graduate students; participate in University service, including committee activities, supervision of teaching/research assistants and student advising; maintain professional standards and level of competence.

Min Quals:

Ph.D. or equivalent in a biological science or related field. Postdoctoral experience and a record of creative and significant research in any area of experimental physiology is required.
